1940-47 FORD TRUCKS Wiper Drive Installation 1. Remove eustuchion plates and gaskets from the wiper transmission assemblies. See Figure 1.
2. Disconnect the passenger side linkage arm from the passenger side wiper transmission drive arm. (Disregard this step if you have removed the under dash brace). See Figure 2.
3. Rotate the armature end of the motor on the mounting bracket. See Figure 3.
4. Open the cowl vent to provide additional room for installation of the wiper assembly. Install the wiper transmission and motor assembly in the cowl. The passenger side wiper transmission and mounting bracket slide between the dash and the under dash brace and the passenger side linkage arm passes through on the opposite side of the under dash brace. See Figure 4. NOTE: The alignment pins on the innersleeve of the wiper transmissions should protrude through the alignment pin holes in the cowl. See Figure 5.
5. Install the eustuchion plates and the gaskets on the outside of the cowl. See Figure 6.

Connect the passenger side linkage arm to the passenger side wiper
transmission drive arm.
7. Rotate the motor and attach the armature end of the motor to the mounting bracket. See Figure 8. 8. Install the support bracket. See Figure 9.

Install the switch in the dash. Caution: Do not over tighten the
mounting nuts on the switch.
10. Connect the hot wire to the accessory circuit breaker. The motor should be protected with a 10 amp fuse or circuit breaker. Ground the motor following the instructions on the enclosed grounding sheet. 11. Run the motor in the low speed and inspect the wiper transmission linkage arm for possible interference with other components under the dash. 12. Install the wiper blades and arms. The blades should be located 3/8”- 1/2” above the rubber windshield gasket. The blades park out. See Figure 11.

Start and run the wiper through several complete cycles. You may
want to moisten the windshield to prevent scratching the windshield
glass. Caution:
Always disconnect the power before make any adjustments on th wiper
drive system.
